Alicia Forkes went to a trendy club looking for a way to forget her troubles, and she found that in the arms of the gorgeous man who swept her off of her feet…and into one of the hottest encounters she’d ever had in her life. Awesome sex with a stranger is now something she can check off her bucket list.
Except he isn’t exactly a stranger. He’s the guy who broke her heart when they were teens, an experience she doesn’t plan on repeating.
Prince Leo can’t believe he’s finally found the woman he’s loved for years, and she wants nothing to do with him. When she shows up at his office, she looks anything but princess-like. In fact, she’s cursing him to hell and back. She may not be Cinderella, but he’s determined to prove he’s the prince for her––even if it means letting her go.
I received The Prince's Bride (Modern Fairytales, #2) for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I’ve had the great pleasure of reading Diane Alberts novels before. I’ve fallen in love with her characters, the stories she weaves, and the worlds she creates for them. The Prince’s Bride was no exception, but extraordinary in itself.
I always look forward to the “meet-cute” in every romance story. Alberts did not disappoint me with the meeting of Alicia and Leo in a masquerade themed night club in the foreign country of Randovia. What starts out as an item for Alicia to tick of her bucket list turns into a steamy second chance at love.
Alberts follows the fairytale theme and gives it an extra kick of spice. There is love, sex, old scars, and heartbreak before the happily ever after. I love how after everything Alicia has been through in her life, Alberts gave her a backbone and the ability to leave her comfort zone to explore the new world she is thrown into. While Leo did do some unsavory things in his past, Alberts gave us the perfect prince, sexy, sweet, and worthy of every ounce of his country’s loyalty.
If you adore a journey to the endings we all love in our fairytales with a splash of steamy added in, read The Prince’s Bride without delay!
