Some Secrets Are Better Left Buried…

When the mysterious Gavin Phillips returns to Seattle after a prolonged and unexplained absence, he threatens to expose fifteen-year-old Cassidy Jones’s incredible secret: she is a superhero. But his presence is far more sinister than she realizes, for it soon becomes apparent that his hidden agenda holds a dark and dangerous intent that will unleash an unparalleled evil upon an unsuspecting world. Can Cassidy stop him before all is lost?

I received Cassidy Jones and the Seventh Attendant (Cassidy Jones Adventures, #3) for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

It took me a little bit to compose my thoughts on Cassidy’s latest adventure. I’m Team Emery, but Stokes actually got me to like Jared in this book. I kept banging my head wondering why if Cassidy is so enamored by Emery, why is she still thinking about Jared? It hit me as I read a scene when Cassidy is talking to her friend. Cassidy doesn’t believe Emery has those kind of feelings for her, so she keeps her feeling for Jared alive. With the other two books, we didn’t seem to see too much of Jared or maybe I just didn’t want to see him. This novel solidified the love triangle for me.

As for Cassidy’s role in the Seventh Attendant, wow, it blew me away. Such a unique idea and it worked so well throughout the entire story. I was positive I knew who the bad guy was. A twist here and a turn there had me in complete shock at the outcome.

I have never had such a physically visceral reaction to any other story I’ve read. I felt an ache when Cassidy was hurt, fear when her life was in jeopardy, and happiness when she made through another day. A solid five star adventure.

Thank you so much to Elise Stokes for giving me chance to go on another adventure with Cassidy. I loved the first two books, but this one soars on a level of it’s own.

About Elise Stokes

Elise Stokes lives with her husband and four children. She was an elementary school teacher before becoming a full-time mom. With a daughter in middle school and two in high school, Elise’s understanding of the challenges facing girls in that age range inspired her to create a series that will motivate girls to value individualism, courage, integrity, and intelligence. The stories in Cassidy Jones Adventures are fun and relatable, and a bit edgy without taking the reader uncomfortably out of bounds.
