A winter's heart...
"Debonair, handsome and with a devil's smile. How could any woman resist?"

The Marquess of Winterbourne has long been guided by his Rules of the Rogue, but as emissary for the Crown, his next mission will break every single one. Sent to the wilds of Cornwall to beguile secrets from a country miss, the last thing this rogue expects is to unearth his own buried heart.

A taste of spring...
"A rogue and a fribble. How could any woman succumb?"

Miss Tamsyn Penrose remains far from impressed by charming London scoundrel Lord Winterbourne, preferring a wild gallop over the moors to flashing black eyes and fulsome flattery. But as danger lurks and prejudice ebbs, she uncovers a complex man who awakens her hidden strength and arouses her forgotten fire.

Seasons collide...

Desire sparks and passion flares in this Cornish land of cove and tor. Can Tamsyn step from the shadow of her past? And will Jack Winterbourne tear up the rules for a woman who maddens his senses and thaws his heart?

A sensual Regency Romance with warmth and wit, this story also includes a fusty valet with a secondary love story, picnics, swordplay, peacocks and...piskies.

I received Marquess to a Flame for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Also in this series: An Earl in Wolf's Clothing, Let Sleeping Dukes Lie

As I hoped, Emily Windsor has given us the love story of Jack, Marquess of Winterbourne! He was a large secondary character in the second novel of this series, Let Sleeping Dukes Lie. I fell for this dashing rouge during that story and knew Windsor would have to create a special lady to capture our Jack’s heart. She did exactly that.

At the tender age of sixteen, Miss Tamsyn Penrose looked the devil in the eye and lived to tell the tale. The problem was her voice was lost to her. Although physically she wasn’t damaged, no words would come out. Six years later and her voice regained, the men of Whitehall need to know what happened the night she encountered the ruthless murderer, La Chauve-Souris, the bat of darkness. Their best man is sent to Cornwall to see what he can retrieve from the young lady’s memory.

Jack has never seduced an innocent, but his charm and good looks usually get him anything he wants. Not with Tamsyn. She knows he’s not visiting her family estate to do business with her father and she fears what she suspects his real motive is.

While Windsor whispers the tale of these two tormented souls, she brings healing and true joy to them that might just last for an eternity. The shadow that hovers over their blooming love is the identity and whereabouts of the villain La Chauve-Souris. He promised Tamsyn he’d return for her someday and she knew he aimed to keep that promise.

Mystery, danger, and discovery fill the pages of this dynamic love story. Bravo Emily Windsor for another fantastic to read!

About Emily Windsor

Emily grew up in the north of England on a diet of historical romance and classical mythology.

Unfortunately, you couldn’t study Georgian slang or the Regency London Season, so she did the next best thing and gained a degree in Classics and History instead. This ‘led’ to an eight-year stint in engineering.

Having left city life, she now lives in a dilapidated farmhouse in the country where her days are spent writing, fixing the leaky roof, battling the endless vegetation and finding pictures of well-tied cravats.
