Luke

One hot summer night, she became the blueprint for my perfect woman.

Now she’s back in Rosella Bay. Ten years later, Mia Sinclair is even more stunning than I remember. I want to do bad things to her. Things I can’t do because she’s his. So when she and her fiancé hire me to renovate their holiday home, I watch. I wait for him to f*ck it up. And when he does, she runs straight into my arms.

How can I resist when she’s literally begging me to give her what she needs? But even though it’s torture to hold back, I don’t want to be the rebound guy. The guy she f*cks and forgets. Not when this could be my only chance to make my dream girl mine. I’ll do anything to keep her in my bed and in my life.

Mia

One hot summer night, he was my first. Now my small town hero is back in my life just in time to rebuild my broken heart.

My fiancé is cheating, our wedding is cancelled and I can’t face going back to Sydney to the life I never wanted. When Luke touches me, it’s like I’ve always been his. He knows all the ways to set me on fire and have me begging for more. He’s like the handyman for my heart, someone whose smile makes me feel like everything’s going to be OK.

But we’re from two different worlds and all too soon I’ll have to go back. Back to Sydney and the job I hate and the constant pressure from my parents to be someone I’m not. If only I could find a way to escape to Rosella Bay.

I received Built for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Ami Wright is spreading her wings and writing spicy contemporary romance as Anna Wright. She is off to an amazing start with Built, the first book in the Rosella Bay Brothers series.

We are off to the Australian coast to the small town of the Rosella Bay! The series will focus on three Wilson brothers. First up, is middle brother, Luke. He’s a cinnamon roll who knows how to satisfy the object of his desire, Mia, in hundreds of ways.

Luke and Mia meet while Mia and her parents are visiting their holiday home in Rosella Bay. On her eighteenth birthday, Mia is wondering her next steps in life since her boyfriend of two years, Oliver, wants a break. When Luke gets up the courage to approach Mia while she’s sketching on the beach, he never considered what an imprint she would make on his life and his heart. Ten years later, Mia is back in town to help with the renovations of the family holiday home that will be a wedding present once she marries long-time boyfriend, Oliver. The contractor Oliver hired is none other than Luke Wilson.

Luke thinks he’s missed his chance with Mia. When she starts thinking about everything going on in her relationship with Oliver and talking with her BFF, Tegan, Mia starts to see all the red flags. Tegan makes her way over to their apartment to catch Oliver in the act and she finds him in bed with another woman. She captures a few pictures and gives Mia the bad news. Mia knows things are over with Oliver which leads to opening things up with Luke once more.

Luke is more than happy to keep Mia pleasured well, but he won’t be the rebound guy. Until Mia is ready, the rest can wait. They spend a night which turns into days then weeks together in Rosella Bay. Mia is in love with the small town, the Wilson family, and her ability to be herself completely.

Like Mia, I’ve fallen in love with Rosella Bay. The images Wright paints of the quaint costal town have me wishing for sandy shores and nights under the stars. Wright built two brilliant characters in Mia and Luke. I felt for Mia’s suffering as she dedicated her life to a career in law at her father and Oliver’s insistence. Living a life for several years unable to devote time to her creative endeavors was something I could completely understand. Mia makes such an amazing life change from the studious lawyer stuck in a toxic relationship to the creative painter dedicated to the love of her life.

As for Luke, he was a saint at times. He held back his own wants and desires until Mia could grow through the destructive events both Oliver and her parents caused. The way he cared and longed for Mia is something so many men have experienced, but in the current society wouldn’t have handled the same. Luke told Mia he would be there for her every step of the transition and he shows her in his actions every day.

This is an absolute five star read for me. The amazing balance of plot and spice had me reading the entire book in one day. While I wait for younger brother, Noah, to get his story, Burned, I am going to check out the other books written under the Ami Wright pen name.
