Amelia

He was a dude in distress.

I help him get away from a woman who doesn't want to take no for an answer, and in turn, he offers to buy me drinks. Drinks turn to more, and we end up in his hotel room.

It was supposed to be just one night, one fan-f**king-tastic night, but then I run into him on my way to work, and he's not at all who he said he was.

Jameson

It was just one night.

Then I realize she works in the building my crew is working on updating. I can't help the excitement at the chance of seeing her again until it actually happens.

Turns out she thinks I lied because she assumed I was a businessman, but I'm not letting that deter me. I'll make her mine, one way or another.

The only problem is that the woman she saved me from has other plans...

I received Dangerously Tempting for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

What if you meet the man of your dreams but he comes with a stalker? It is a question I pondered the whole time I was reading Dangerously Tempting by Alexa L. Stephen.

Amelia is married to her job in finance. She good at it, but she has to shield herself and display only her hard edges one might get cut on. When Jameson, a construction company manager, is running from the blonde who is following him around at a conference, he stops at the table Amelia is working for her company. After some banter while Jameson is pretending to fill out some paperwork, Jameson leaves his number and hopes Amelia will call. While Amelia has suffered so much loss and pain in her life, she decides to give him a chance. They meet up in a hotel bar and Jameson can tell how Amelia needs someone to take control from her. Amelia has to be such a tightly wound business woman at work, Jameson know he’s needs to take control when they get personal. This turns into a spicy night the two enjoy immensely.

They do eventually come face to face while back in their normal lives. While they slowly begin to build a relationship on substance instead of their all consuming chemistry, a female stalker works in the shadows to tear them apart.

I was a little unsure of Amelia at the beginning. She seemed so rigid and unmoving. As for Jameson, he seemed to be exasperated when he first approaches Amelia at her table. Once they meet up at the hotel bar later, Jameson figures out that Amelia needs to let go of the control she hold professionally and enjoy what pleasure can be claimed once she lets go. While this did appear a little too insightful for a woman he just met, it ended up being exactly what Amelia needed. Her need to let go was a big part of their growing relationship. She was able to have fun, “let her hair down” at work, and form a healthy relationship with Jameson. I loved seeing them both grow as a couple and individually throughout the story. As for the stalker, Tori, Jameson handles her in a way most men would, doing nothing until he gets scared. This made for interesting events throughout. You will not be ready for the twists in the last third of the novel. I recommend having a box of tissues handy.

Overall, Dangerously Tempting is a spicy adventure with an amazingly chilling subplot. If you enjoy a fantastic plot with your spice, this book is for you. I look forward to reading more from Alexa L. Stephen in the future.
