Sometimes, Christmas makes you go a little overboard…

Lady Rose Ferguson is supposed to spend time in paradise as a sailing WAG, lapping up a bit of Christmas in Miami instead of the dreary UK. Instead, she’s alone on her family’s cruiser, watching her family sail and feeling little Christmas spirit.

When she goes to a mixer and runs into her ex, she cannot stop him from aggressively grovelling until her brother’s old friend swoops in to save her. Prince Lars pretends to be her boyfriend and sends him off. It works, but soon, everyone is convinced the two are together.

When Rose says she’s desperate to enter their family’s cruiser in the Christmas boat parade competition, Lars offers to help her create a splendid light show to her favourite yuletide song. It’s all fake at first, but the more time they spend together, the more Lars and Rose bond. They’re both reminded of the beautiful parts of the season as they put together a winning boat.

When push comes to shove, will they win the boat parade? And is it all just a yuletide fling or something more?

I received Yachts and Yuletide for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Also in this series: Royally Drawn

Ready for a fun-filled holiday romp in Miami? That’s exactly what you’re going to get from the team of Maude Winters and L. Derby in Yachts and Yuletide!

I haven’t read all of the Resplendent Royals series, but I have read Royally Drawn and this story follows right after it. We met Prince Lars of Norway in the last book. Honestly, he was kind of a dick. I knew there was more to him by the end of Royally Drawn and I was so happy he was getting his own holiday novella. The object of Lars’ affection is Lady Rose Ferguson of the UK. He has been friends with her older brothers for years. While they have never formed a relationship before, when Rose’s ex shows up, Lars is willing to jump into the role of fake boyfriend.

Lars has a degree in Electrical Engineering and Rose needs someone to help her with a choreographed light show for her boat in an annual holiday boat parade. Lars takes on double duty of fake boyfriend and holiday boat decorator for Rose while also helping his step-brother’s daughter, Jacqueline “Jack”, decorating her dinghy for the holiday teen race. With his hands more than full, he does fit in acting on his attraction to Rose.

Rose is very confident while Lars is a tad bit shy. Once the two decide to act on their desires, Lars learns how to satisfy Rose in ways he never imagined but whole-heartedly enjoys. Tons of spicy scenes follow as the two explore all their desires in the little time they have together. Keep a cool drink and a fan handy as the chemistry reaches volcanic levels.

I love how Lars and Rose take over a parental role for Jack. While there is so many blood-related people in this series, Lars and Rose make Jack truly feel like family while her real parents haven’t made her a priority. Plus, Jack is the number one cheerleader for Lars and Rose to make a real go of it.

While this novella is only about 140 pages, it packs in an amazing story with two characters you’ll instantly fall for.

About Maude Winters

Maude Winters loves to write saucy fiction just like the titles she devours. She’s a horse girl through-and-through and lives in the Midwest with her husband, horse girl daughter, and two dogs.

Maude loves to write strong female characters who challenge institutions and find strength in their relationships with their sisters in the world. She is known for her amazing cinnamon roll heroes.

Maude has lived throughout the world but attributes her interest in writing about the intersection of modern politics, feminism, and royalty with her time spent in the UK as a twenty-something.
