I can’t believe it is time for ABEA again! Where did the time go? I’m excited to participate and sponsor this event again in 2016.
I am Lindsey Gray. I have several titles but for ABEA I am both an author and a blogger. Feel free to take a look around my website to see all the stuff I have going on.
The powers that be behind the ABEA would like all of the participants to introduce ourselves with some questions they have. Without further ado, it is time to get to know me!
1. What is the name you prefer to use?
Lindsey Gray
2. How long have you been a book blogger?
I have blogged about books since 2010. In January of this year, I took the big leap from my Blogger site and made this beautiful WordPress website. I loved being on Blogger, but WordPress had several things I couldn’t live without anymore, thus the big change.
3. Have you participated in ABEA before?
Yes, this is my fourth year with ABEA. I started off in 2013 after I wasn’t able to go to the big show in New York City but still wanted to participate in some way.
4. What is your favorite genre and why?
I am a complete Romance junkie! I read a fiction novels as long as it has an element of romance. While I do worship the genre, there are some stories I’m not all fan girlie about. I usually will look at all the aspects of the book before I make my decision to read or not. You can check out my review guidelines here.
5. If you could create a playlist that reflects your bookshelf, what would be the first song you choose?
I think the first song would be Fight Song by Rachel Platten. I have a ton of novels with vibrant and strong-willed females who fight for what they want.
Another song I would have to include would be Taylor Swift’s Love Story. I think that one is pretty self-explanatory. LOL
6. What is the most interesting thing that you have learned through your reading this year so far?
This year I am floored by how much I am loving the historical romances coming out! I can’t quit them. I’ve fallen in love with one rake after another and most of the damsels who are not in distress, but need a good rake to be by their side. Most of the historical novels I’ve devoured this year have an element of mystery and a dastardly villain. I love trying to figure out the motives behind these devious plots. One of my very favorite historical romance authors, Julia Quinn, has started a new series! Because of Miss Bridgerton is the first novel in Julia’s Rokesbys series. The focus of this novel is the paternal aunt, Billie Bridgerton, of the characters featured in Julia’s best selling Bridgerton series. It is only one of many of the books I’ve read this year.
7. If you could choose three characters to have lunch with, who would they be and why?
I don’t know that I would have lunch with them all together because they are all so different. One would be Temperance Brennan from Kathy Reichs’ series of the same name. Temperance is brilliant in the books in a way that differs from the television series, which I am also a big fan of. She would be a terrific character to have a long, intellectual conversation with.
The next would be Julia Forsythe from Lily Maxton’s fourth book in the Sisters of Scandal Series, The Mistake. Julia is an infamous courtesan who writes a scandalous book featured throughout the series. I would love to hear a first hand account of all the wild things she has done and how becoming a mother changed everything for her.
My last lunch would be with a couple, the lead characters from Kathleen Bittner Roth’s The Seduction of Sarah Marks, Eastleigh and Sarah. Both of them have suffered from long bouts of amnesia and it is a subject I’m fascinated by. The way a mind can block or completely wipe out chunks of time is confounding to me and I would love to hear their experiences.
That is all I have for you all today. Be sure to follow along with all the events we have going on through the weekend including hundreds of giveaways, Twitter parties, and Instagram challenges. Find out what all is happening and who is participating on the ABEA Website.
