Grayson and Courtney are on a mission to save the world from cancer… if only they can figure out how to make time for love in their overbooked lives.
When Grayson, a charming yet slightly overworked college professor in cancer research, meets the brilliant and passionate researcher Courtney at his sister’s wedding, sparks fly brighter than a Bunsen burner. Their chemistry? Off the charts. But balancing groundbreaking science and a budding romance? Let’s just say it’s a bit of an experiment.
Between late-night lab work and juggling breakthroughs (Courtney’s cancer research might just be the cure the world’s been waiting for), they somehow learn to make time for piano lessons, cake baking, and the occasional romantic rendezvous. But when Courtney’s research becomes the target of a ruthless rival, their relationship hits the kind of plot twist they don’t teach in grad school.
As secrets surface and loyalties are tested, Grayson realizes he has to step up in ways he never anticipated—not just for Courtney, but for himself. With love, science, and a bit of detective work, they’ll navigate academic rivalries and personal challenges, discovering that life’s true magic lies in mixing passion with partnership.
Can Grayson and Courtney keep both their research and relationship intact? Or will love prove to be the most unpredictable formula of all?

Two intelligent scientist, best man and maid of honor, and throw in a destination wedding and sparks will fly! Welcome to the new Destination Wedding series by Sheri Tyler.
We jump into this novel with new main characters but we get the double wedding of Mara and Ford from Slow Simmer and Sonya and Max from Here’s the Scoop plus a few glances of Lianna and Kincaid from From Bitter to Sweet. All of them from Tyler’s Coming Home Trilogy. In this new series, we are introduced to Kincaid’s sister, Courtney, and Mara’s brother, Grayson. They are two cancer researchers working at different institutions looking for the same thing. A cure.
I went into this novel with only one expectation, the science part would be over my head. In the end, it wasn’t. I ended up enjoying that side immensely. Courtney and Grayson are two extremely intelligent people with intricate feelings. Both have their own set of problems, Grayson’s career pressure from his father and Courtney’s trust issues due to her father’s abandonment. While they do have crazy chemistry, the will they/won’t they vibe is thick in the beginning. Once they play a few interesting games of chess, the will they question is answered.
Once back home and thrust into day to day life, Courtney and Grayson slip into each other’s lives with a flourish. While they make room for each other, they also make decisions on their work/life balance. Grayson is drawn back into his love of music by picking up playing the piano again while Courtney makes an effort to bake something every weekend. I love that Tyler exposed all aspects of these characters lives. While their waking hours were full of work, hobbies, family, friends, and love, the pair was able to bring forth versions of themselves they never knew they could be. Some novels don’t delve into huge character development, but Tyler’s isn’t one of them. The way Tyler wrote Courtney and Grayson’s story in such a way that they were able to truly go through a metamorphosis was astonishing.
This is my first read from Sheri Tyler, but I will absolutely reading more from her. There are two other novels planned in this series, Say Cheese and Kebabs and Kisses. I can’t wait for more from this world Tyler has created.
