She needs a miracle.

Madison Amherst is desperate to protect her nephew. Caught in a brutal custody battle, she risks losing him to the man she suspects is responsible for her sister’s death. Her only option? A dangerous proposal from a man whose darkness and power might be the only way to keep them safe.

He needs a wife.

Alex Kovalyov, heir to a dangerous Bratva legacy, needs a wife to satisfy his brother’s demands. Marrying Madison is the perfect solution—until their calculated alliance turns into something far more complicated than either of them ever wanted.

Can their marriage save them both—or will it destroy everything?

As secrets surface and enemies close in, their fragile alliance is tested. Madison’s search for the truth and Alex’s vow to keep her safe could cost them everything. When the stakes turn deadly and Alex’s loyalty is tested, he’ll stop at nothing to save his new family—even if it destroys him.

I received A Dangerous Proposal for free. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

We are back in the Dangerous Blooms Universe, but dealing with two characters that are not one of the Bloom siblings. We met Maddison and Alex when they appeared in book three of the series, See You Again. Maddison is the other half of the true crime podcast duo with Cami who ends up married to James Bloom by the end of book three. Alex and Maddison’s story begins with events that happen in book three, but they go beyond when things get rough in their lives and the feelings turn lustful.

Maddison is working hard with Cami to find out what really happened to a young man who died in a fire. They both think there was foul play. While doing research, interviews, and recording, Maddison has to keep up with her toddler nephew, Jax, whom she has primary custody of since his mother’s death. To add even more to her plate, Jax’s father, Felix, is now married to a high-profile senator’s daughter and he wants Jax. Maddison knows Felix is still a completely toxic man and just wants Jax for his wife. All of this is overwhelming, but Maddison is ploughing through until Alex comes to stir up her life.

Alex Kovalyov is the illegitimate half-brother of the current head of Atlanta’s Russian Mafia. He has made it his life’s work to create a clean and legitimate business and separate himself from his father and brother’s legacies. He is extremely successful, but he still has to obey his brother’s rules. When Alex is told he needs a bride and babies, Alex knows exactly who he wants by his side.

This novel is more than just a romance. It is an all out, edge of your seat suspense. Alex has the pressure of keeping his business above board and make his brother happy at the same time. Danger is in his veins and deadly consequences are around every turn. Maddison has two threads of danger, Felix and the possible threats from the case she is working on. The passion between Alex and Maddison leads them to a partnership neither of them expected.

I loved the sizzle Breitfeller creates from the moment Alex and Maddison meet. She gives the over-worked and dedicated parent Maddison an outlet to finally find a bit of happiness for herself. Breitfeller give Alex a crisp edge on the outside and a tender heart on the inside. The instant connection with both Maddison and Jax is transformative for Alex. Something that should not work, absolutely does and both Alex and Maddison are better for it.

Thank you, Kate Breitfeller for expanding the Dangerous Blooms series to include Maddison, Jax, and Alex. I loved the growth of all three of them to ultimately become a loving family with their own happily ever after.
